Episode 67 - From The Ground Up

School is already a full-time job for kids, having the additional burden of doing homework can overload a student with stress. The struggle of balancing homework along with other extracurricular activities cause students to become sleep deprived, unable to function properly the next day at school. Homework is also difficult to enforce because most students could not care any less and nor can any parent or teacher inspire a student to become motivated in doing their homework. Students also still have the opportunity to be able to maintain an adequate grade with or without doing their homework. When it comes to homework or any other form of learning, quality is much more important than quantity. In this podcast episode, a student from BMS and a parent-teacher dive deep into the controversy that surrounds homework.

I am currently a sophomore at FHS (Fenton High Schooly) wrestling at 106. Being a student-athlete on an accelerated path, I personally know the struggle and the stress that comes along with completing assignments and still managing to balance practice, meets, and tournaments alongside wrestling. So I decided to dig deeper into the efforts of finding whether homework is truly worth all the stress and time. Through this podcast episode, I hope teachers and parents all over the town of Bensenville, Illinois hear the voice of their students and children to cut down or remove homework entirely.
