Gun Control

Gun control is a serious dilemma that many have been trying to solve. The question that goes along with that is whether or not everyone should there be stricter gun control laws? One main reason why people are now double thinking their response and changing their answer from a no to a yes is that of the number of shootings that have gone up. Nowadays many people are allowed to carry a weapon with them because it’s “for protection” but how can we be so sure? For all we know, these people who carry weapons such as guns could be planning the next shooting, and that’s what people are afraid of. My main reason for using gun control as a topic is because of the lack of importance we give to gun control and what has happened because of that.

If we go deeper into the problem we start to see many mass shootings that have occurred due to the lack of stricter gun control laws. One of these mass shootings would include the school shooting that took place in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida where 17 people were killed and 17 others were injured. Many kids were left traumatized because of this and many others think that things need to change. Kids and teens shouldn't be scared to go to school every day, they should feel safe and assured that the school will protect them from the violence caused due to the mentally ill people that become the shooters.
