For Crying Out Loud! with Ien Tingpalpong
Gun Control and School Shootings:
There have been 17 school shootings in 2018 alone, and 290 since 2013 in the United States. U.S. school shootings. It is an absolutely horrifying thing to witness and some can only imagine what it is like to experience, but what are the schools doing to prevent this. At the Stoneman Douglas School Shooting a campus safety expert, Michael Dorn, spoke up about drills in a USA Today interview. The article states, “Dorn agrees that lockdowns have proven to be the most reliable method so far… But too much focus on one type of response, even lockdowns, in place of teaching staff and students to think on their feet can be a mistake, Dorn said.” The way schools are dealing with emergency drills have changed. At Fenton, we have recently learned about the new policy of A.L.I.C.E. Giving the students the power of choice.

I like the images in this. I also like the idea of interviewing multiple credible sources
ReplyDeleteGreat podcast, it was visible that you really cared about the topic. The picture choice for your post is perfect but maybe write a little something about yourself.
ReplyDeleteIen, I only listened to a bit but I feel that this topic suits you. I know you have a strong stature for speaking and for emphasizing your message and I know that you have a very serious tone in your voice than my own that would really, really, your listeners think and have mental thoughts about this. I personally cannot say that about my podcast even though I tried but I'm glad you were able to do this more so than myself. So far on what I've heard, great job Ien!
