Maya's Chit Chat!
"Where we talk about everything and anything!"
Hello Listeners! Welcome to Maya’s Chit chat. I'm your host, Maya Cornejo! I just wanted to introduce myself and let you guys know a little bit of info about me. I am 16 and a Sophomore at Fenton High School. The clubs I'm involved in are Marching Band (season is currently over ☹), Jazz Band, Fall play, SOS and The National Honor Society. In band, I play the best instrument ever, the trumpet! I'm at school almost all the time, but when I'm not you can find me at Mariachi. Whether it's at practice or an actual performance. Performing is the best you never know where you will go weddings, mass, concert halls, birthday parties, millennium park!! On my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and spending time with family.

Episode 2: Control
Schools are safe or that’s why we use to believe. As the number of school shooting goes up, it’s hard to say that ur not on edge sometimes at school. Fenton has reacted to the number of school shootings going up by implementing ALICE. So far none of the students have really got to talk about their feeling about the new procedure. Though their feelings will be heard about Alice and the old procedure through interviews I will conduct. As well as other questions such as, do they feel safe at school. All this relates to a big picture: The history of School shootings and what the government has done to prevent them. I will first talk about Columbine since it’s the first major school shooting all the way to the present day. All this will be in a big timeline going from major tragedy to the next. And stopping at each to take a look at the reaction of the media, citizens and the government. From gun control laws to the sickening teens who romanticize the people who attacked the school.

π±Episode 3: Is Social Media a Bad Thing?π±
You can't debate that almost everyone has at least one social media account. Some people are addicted to it. Social Media can be a fun place to connect with friend, but it can also be a place where bullies can follow their victims. So should teens really have these social media accounts?

I find it interesting how you made so many episodes. I think that episode 2 was so crazy. It is upsetting how so many lives have been lost because schools do not provide the proper safety. I know about the ALICE program from my middle school. I think that this program should have been included in the school so much earlier. Your podcast and this fact show how little care our schools put into our safety.
ReplyDeleteI found your podcast very well organized and smooth. You did a wonderful job putting your thoughts together and making them very clear to understand. Like Lylli commented, your podcast shows how little care schools put into students safety. I would definitely recommend school leaders to listen to your podcast to show them these flaws so they may fix them and improve our safety. Also, great job on all those episodes!!
ReplyDeleteI hope many schools everywhere listen to your podcast because after listening to this, I feel like more safety should be ensured in schools. ALICE is starting to be implemented at Fenton, which I'm grateful for, but this should be implemented eveywhere. Nice job on all of these episodes too
ReplyDeleteI also did my podcast on school shootings. I found your podcast very interesting. I like how you have more than one episode.
ReplyDeleteI loved how you formatted everything, and how you added the scroll thing to your works cited, I thought that it was nice that you added some movement into your page. I also found it really cool that you made your own merch and added it to the blog!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you organized your blog and the fact that you included more episodes. I think it is very creative and clever. I also really like the topic!
ReplyDeleteI love the creativity of your blog page (especiallly the merch) and how neat and organized it is. Your podcast is well organized which makes it easy to follow along. And I love how you put the recordings from speeches at the begining, that set up your podcast nicley.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you put a lot of effort into this project. Good job!
DeleteI found your podcast very interesting and really like how you chose to do multiple episodes. I found that Episode 2 is something I hope many people listen to because, I find it really crazy in a way how safety, such as ALICE, hasn't been implemented as much before. This was a great topic to speak out on and extremely important for others to listen to. Fantastic job!
