History of Poland Bit By Bit Episode 1 - Martial Law

Image
In this Podcast, you will learn a little bit of History. Don't worry this is not the super boring history that we all know and love. It's the history of people and how they lived their lives during Martial Law. This time has affected Poland negatively. The communist restricted everything, which outraged the Polish people. But this didn’t stop us. We fought back no matter what. Having a strong will, and not allowing anyone or anything to take over our beautiful country.  And this is how the group named Solidarność was created. Podcast: Martial Law In Poland GeneraÅ‚ Wojciech Jaruzelski (yaroo-ZELL-skee) General Wojciech Jaruzelski was Poland’s last communist leader. He imposed the Martial law on December 13, 1981. He was the First Secretary of the Polish United Workers’ Party from 1981 to 1989. Also being the last commander-in-chief of the Polish People’s Army. He later resigned in 1989. My podcast is about Women's Discrimination. I interviewed my grandma about the time she spent in Germany. While she was in Germany she faced discrimination from others because she was a woman. Women have faced discrimination for over centuries and it is a problem that we still face today. Link:   Podcast Hello! I am your host, Lauren Kissane. I am currently a Sophomore at Fenton High School. The picture shown to the left is of my grandma and me! Some of my favorite activities are choir, theater, volleyball, and reading. the secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need rules. this is one of Gary Gygax's more popular quotes on Dungeons and Dragons. this is what this podcast is about the raise the fall and the impact D&D had on people even nowadays. this role-playing based game has its many different sides ranging from people blaming it for suicides to helping people get away from the horrible place we call reality to even helping people with mental issues. most people never even heard of this board game considering it came out in the 1970s. but people and even students are still playing this game. I interviewed some frequent and new players to for this podcast. if you can ever try out D&D it's definitely worth your time, well as long as you know a great storyteller. listen to the podcast here Work Cited "Dungeons and Dragons" Wikipedia, edited last December 4, 2018, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_%26_Dragons#Ex...

What's a DACA?

Image
The Sauce   |  Ep. 1 "What's a DACA?" Fun fact: These are actually my Aunt and Uncle, Fanny and David Martinez. Fanny is a DREAMer who graduated summa cum laude from Dominican and uChicago (she also went to Fenton). David served in the US Army for 8 years. The DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, has improved the overall quality of life for many young, law-abiding immigrants. The students who have been able to apply for the DACA have been granted the opportunity of great education and a bright future. Without it, we could be depriving ourselves of a generation that could help shape the world. This podcast will cover the importance of the DACA and give us some insight into what it's like to be  DREAMer. Mexico is super cool. Whole milk is the best btw. Hey! I'm Alfredo! Yeah, it's like the pasta sauce (hence the podcast name). If you were expecting to learn a lot about me here, you'll be kinda ...
